This is an effective antibacterial soap containing the combined action of Active Manuka AAH (Antibacterial Antioxidant Honey)
650+and Manuka Oil to cleanse and help maintain a healthy skin. Combined with fresh scented Lemon Myrtle and skin
soothing Chamomile, this specially formulated soap is suitable for all skin types.
Lemon Myrtle is a citrus essential oil with strong anti-microbial properties and a central nervous system relaxant.

Active AAH (Antibacterial Antioxidant Honey) 650+ Manuka Honey
Manuka is a flowering tea tree native to New Zealand. The honey that is collected from these flowers has long been renowned for its remarkable
beneficial properties.
Manuka Honey contains special antibacterial properties including an enzyme that produces Hydrogen Peroxide which is a proven antiseptic. Manuka
Honey has higher levels of this enzyme thereby containing a greater level of antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It is extremely rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals and
has the outstanding ability to nourish, soothe and heal sensitive skin.
Manuka Honey also contains active antioxidants that neutralise free radicals which are responsible for skin cell damage. Manuka Honey assists in the growth of new cell and
tissue regeneration.

Biochemistry at Lincoln University in Canterbury, New Zealand. Dr Savage is one of New Zealand’s leading authorities on the health benefits of honey and antioxidants. He
and his team found that Active AAH 650+ Manuka Honey contained extremely high, naturally occurring levels of antibacterial activity and antioxidants – far more than any
other honey varieties.
The scale of measuring the antibacterial activity in Active AAH 650+ Manuka Honey is different to that of UMF. The Active AAH activity range is 470 – 650+. For UMF the
activity range is 8 – 20+. With both testing methods, the higher the number, the more antibacterial activity the honey contains and the better it is for natural healing. With regards to Active AAH Manuka Honey, 650+ is the highest possible level of antibacterial activity the honey can have, and is equivalent to the highest commonly available
UMF rating.
Active AAH 650+ Manuka Honey is not only high in antibacterial activity; it is also extremely high in antioxidants. As already mentioned, antioxidants neutralise free radicals
in the environment. These free radicals are caused by everyday environmental factors such as air, sunlight and pollution. They have been medically recognised as the
cause of degenerative skin diseases such as wrinkles and skin discolourations, and can damage cells and harm the immune system. It is believed that using products that
are high in antioxidants can help prevent or limit these negative effects.
Manuka Oil
Manuka was originally used therapeutically by the Maori hundreds of years ago for the treatment of many different ailments. It is only in recent history that the medicinal
effects of Manuka that were recognised so long ago by the Maori have been scientifically proven. Researchers have established that Manuka Oil has natural antibacterial,
antifungal, antiallergenic, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties.
The oil we choose to use in our new manukavantage™ range of therapeutic health care products is extracted from the young leaf tips that are harvested in the wild from
regenerating sustainable Manuka trees located in the East Cape region of New Zealand. Not only is this Manuka oil a renewable resource, testing has proven that the oil
from this small region is 20 – 30 times more active than Australian Tea Tree oil, meaning the levels of anti-microbial activity (the substance that kills or inhibits the growth of
bacteria and fungi) from this are also much higher in comparison.
Manuka Oil is proven for the treatment of common ailments such as Athletes Foot, dandruff and acne. It is also an effective antihistamine – rapidly removing the itchiness,
irritation and sting from insect bites and stings and from skin reactions due to contact with stinging plants such as nettle. It also helps reduce inflammation and is particularly
effective with itchy, irritated skin conditions.
Being an odour eliminator, Manuka Oil is also beneficial for those with physically demanding jobs where they sweat considerably, or who have body odour problems.
