Framed Tuatara - Lizard
This is a contemporary artwork portraying the typical serpentine form of the Te Manaia, crafted from plantation grown hardwood and embellished with paua shell. The Manaia (guardian spirit) guides the Mauri (life force) of the fish to the place of peace and tranquility.
Each piece is individually signed by the artist, Mike Carlton, and comes complete with wall mount and related story to back.

Mike Carlton is of Ngati Whakaue descent (Te Arawa sub-tribe) with affiliations to the Hinemoa Point Marae in Rotorua, New Zealand.
