The Maori warrior is a brave man and a good fighter is called a toa. They were trained in the art of war from an early age.
The Maori girl (Wahine) is also dressed in traditional costume. Flax skirts were worn and capes were used to combat the cold. These costumes are worn for special ceremonies today.
Both decorations are hand made using beads, sequins, felt and other materials to form this wonderful decoration.
