A hand made decoration of a Maori girl (Wahine) dressed in traditional costume. Flax skirts were worn and capes were used to combat the cold. These costumes are worn for special ceremonies today. This decoration is from the Caroline Mitchell collection. It is hand made using beads, sequins, felt and other materials to form this wonderful decoration.
