Deer Bone Manaia Carving Pendant

 No Deer are hurt in the carving of these pendants. The reason for this is that the bone used in their production is naturally shed by New Zealand deer each year. The shed antlers and antler buttons are collected and it is this material which is used for the carvings.
In this case the deer button has been crafted in to a Manaia from Maori legend. The manaia is said to represent the a birds head and human form. This mythical create is the messenger between the earth and the spirit world. It is known to represent the circle of life.
The pendant comes in a presentation box. Included in the box is the deer button from which the pendant was carved and a fact card. The pendant comes on a waxed cord with a deer bone toggle. The Manaia pendant measures 27mm (1.06 inches) Wide x 45mm (1.77inches) Long.
