Rimu Wall Block Art Series 1
(IBWB)
Wall blocks featuring pacific designs engraved and cut. Each of the wall blocks are made from pacific rimu and measure 75mm wide and 100mm tall (2.95x3.95 inches). Each panel can be hung on the wall separately or as a set, either way they will be visually stunning. The designs featured are Nikau, Kowhaihai, Frangipani and Koru. The designs can be seen in the photo above.
Native Pacific Rimu
In New Zealand and through the pacific islands, rimu has always been traditionally used as a building material, due to it's strength and resistance to rot and insect attack. However due to the high cost of production, cheaper materials are now used. Rimu is usually now used for more ornate feature work such as furniture and art works, this is because of it's wonderful colours and grain which was lost on previous generations.
