New Zealand Rimu Shadow Panels. Each panel features an New Zealand icon in black on a white background. Visually stunning when hung on the wall. There are five designs to choose from -
Frangi - Frangi is an attractive subtropical tree. It is native only to the islands of the south pacific. It has a sweet smelling flower and these flowers are often represented in art from the pacific. The fragrance from the flowers is also used as perfume.
Silver Fern - If you walk into any native New Zealand bush and you will find the Silver Fern. It is a lush green fern which is backed with silver. in 1888 the silver fern was adopted by the All Blacks and since has become the symbol of New Zealand.
Toe Toe - A tall grass native to New Zealand. It has an ethereal presence in the New Zealand summer landscape. It sway gently in the breeze and beckons you with it;s frosted, feathery flowers.
Pacific Leaf - This leaf design has been taken from designs featured on tapa cloths from the pacific. It represents simplicity and the freshness of the south pacific.
Tiki - A small carved ornament, usually made from greenstone and worn around the neck. There are several theories to the origin of the tiki and many are obscure, however a common thread is that it symbolises fertility.
Each of the frames measures 95mm wide and 245mm long (3.75 x 9.65 inches).
Native Rimu One of the finest New Zealand native timbers, Rimu is widely famed for it's strength and durability. It has been widely used as a building material throughout New Zealand's history, however it is only in recent times that it has been used as a decorative timber.
